Episode 1

In the first episode of Team Peace the Podcast, founder Kara Schmidt shares why she set out to become the adult she wished she’d had as a child: someone grounded, present, and able to help kids understand their brains, bodies, and big emotions. Hear how that goal became the heart of Team Peace, and why these skills have to be practiced, not just learned.

Episode 2

Kara shares how Team Peace grew from one invitation into a first grade classroom in 2019 into a nonprofit serving schools. Hear why kids need to learn how to calm down and make good choices, and why the adults around them need to practice these skills too.

Episode 3

Kara goes down the winding path that led from yoga and a kids’ summer camp to a six-week classroom pilot and, eventually, Team Peace. Hear how each step added a tool to the toolbox, and why she hopes these skills will outlast any one person.

Episode 4

Kara speaks to families about what Team Peace is, why every child can benefit from learning to understand their brain and body, and how adults can practice these skills right alongside them. Hear simple ways to bring these tools home.

Episode 5

Kara speaks to educators and school leaders about how Team Peace can support teaching, not compete with it. Hear what these tools look like in a real classroom and how schools can bring them in.

Episode 6

In this final episode, Kara shares what’s next for Team Peace and how you can help, from spreading the word to joining the newsletter. Hear her thanks to the community and her vision for a future where kids and adults practice peace together.
